CRISIS OF SENITIVITY: “Echoes of the First Horizon”
a performance by Guadalupe Aldrete & Tahereh Nourani

The performative landscape becomes a terrain for an ancestral search. In this performance by Guadalupe Aldrete and Tahereh Nourani, voice, movement and acoustic interventions interact with the surrounding space. Visitors are gently drawn into a shared field of perception where sound, breath and gesture resonate through the landscape and among those present. The audience becomes part of this shifting constellation, being transported into distant temporalities when the body and the environment were inseparable. Gestures trace forgotten pathways, evoking rituals of orientation and survival. In response to the ‚Crisis of Sensitivity‘, the space reawakens an embodied memory of belonging to the landscape.

Die performative Landschaft wird zu einem Terrain für Ahnenforschung. Guadalupe Aldrete und Tahereh Nourani performen und entfalten dabei Stimme, Bewegung und akustische Interventionen im Dialog mit dem umgebenden Raum. Die Besucher werden sanft in ein gemeinsames Wahrnehmungsfeld hineingezogen, in dem Klang, Atem und Gesten durch die Landschaft und zwischen den anwesenden Körpern Resonanz finden. Das Publikum wird Teil dieser sich wandelnden Konstellation und in ferne Zeiten versetzt, in denen Körper und Umwelt noch untrennbar verbunden waren. Gesten zeichnen vergessene Wege nach und erinnern an Rituale der Orientierung und des Überlebens. Als Reaktion auf die „Crisis of Sensitivity” weckt der Raum eine verkörperte Erinnerung an die Zugehörigkeit zur Landschaft.

Tahereh Nourani
Tahereh Nourani is a composer and sound artist in the field of experimental sound art. She explores the potential of Deep Listening through slowness and minimalism. Nourani specializes in extended and unconventional playing techniques on her instruments, the bass and the flute, and integrates objects, field recordings, and languages into her work.
Nourani is a scholarship recipient of the Austrian Federal Ministry f. Housing, Arts, Culture, Media and Sports, she is a member of the Vienna Improvisers Orchestra as well as the artist collective QMA, SHAPE+ Artist and winner of the PhonoECHOES Award for experimental sound art. She has performed at venues and festivals such as Belvedere 21 (AT), Moers Festival (DE), UH Fest (HU), and Üle Heli Festival (EE) and has composed music for installations, film, theater, contemporary dance, and performance. She studied European classical flute at the Tehran University of Arts and at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (MDW) and was Artist in Residence at AQB (HU), Casa di Rosa (CH), and Hotel Pupik (AT). She is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Contemporary Arts Practice at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (mdw).

Guadalupe Aldrete
Guadalupe Aldrete is a Mexican transdisciplinary artist based in Vienna whose work unfolds across performance, painting, installation, video and photography. Through auto-ethnographic and somatic processes she creates immersive performative landscapes that explore ancestral memory, historical continuity and embodied forms of connection. She develops environments that function as spatial extensions of corporeal experience, inviting reflection on somatic memory and the layered relations between past and present.
Her work has been presented internationally at festivals, museums and exhibitions, including Künstlerhaus Wien (2025), the Infinite Present Festival in Ljubljana (2024), the MMSU Museum in Rijeka (2018) and PCP at the Science Gallery London (2023). Solo projects include Chamber III. Through the Surface (WAM Museum, Vienna, 2024), Chamber II. Reflecting River (Mz Balthasar Laboratory, Vienna, 2024) and Un Pueblo (eindorf, Vienna, 2023). She was an artist-in-residence at the Women’s Museum Hittisau (2021) and the Lushan Art Museum (Chengdu, 2018). In 2023 she received the TQW ‚Stipendium für Körper- und Performancepraktiken‘ and became a member of the Austrian Artists Association (Künstlerhaus).
