While Isabella and Steve have never played together before, they have long admired each other’s work and look forward to this collaboration immensely.

Steve Bates is an artist and musician currently living on Treaty 6 / Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, so-called Canada. His work has been exhibited, performed, and transmitted in North America/Turtle Island, Europe, Chile and Senegal. While his most recent solo recording, All The Things That Happen, has been released by Montréal’s Constellation Records, he also releases music both solo and collaboratively through his own small scale publishing and curatorial project, The Dim Coast. He works in the field, on the air, in museological/gallery and performance contexts. These shifting territories reflect the content of his practice.

Isabella Forciniti is a Vienna based sound artist from Italy. Her work manoeuvrers within tensions evoked by the substantial aspects of sound and improvised music. Her intention is to explore deliberate states of sounds through examining relationships among interwoven sound surroundings, informal practice as well as their intrinsic abilities. Her work thrives to release streams of thoughts at the margins of the unknown.
She has created works for Austria’s radio station Ö1, such as for the art program Kunstradio and Radiokolleg. Isabella Forciniti has also gained experience with movies during her work with Kubelka’s „Arnulf Rainer“ film strips and scoring gender-critical silent movies from the early 20th century.
Isabella Forciniti cooperated with Patrick Pulsinger, Burkhard Stangl, Katharina Klement, Antye Greie-Ripatti, Joni Void, Ryoko Akama as well as other artists. Forciniti was invited to different music festivals such as Wien Modern (AT), Simultan Festival (RO), Ars Electronica (AT), Elevate Festival (AT), NEXT Advanced Music Festival (SK) and Darmstädter Ferienkurse (GER).
She holds a degree in communication sciences focused on sociology and multimedia. In 2019 she finished the university program Computer Music and Electronic Media (ELAK) at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. Currently she studies computer music and composition at the Anton Bruckner Private University and Postdigital Lutherie at the University of Art and Design Linz (AT) focussing on digital music performance, improvised music and tangible interaction design.
